Are you a data protection and privacy specialist ready to shape best practice across an entire industry rather than advising just one organisation?
Our client is a highly respected UK membership and trade association in the data-driven marketing space, employing circa 50 people and operating at the centre of its sector. We are working with them on a mandated, exclusive assignment, extending a long-standing partnership where we typically support commercial and growth roles within membership bodies. Due to increased member demand, regulatory complexity, and organisational growth, they are now appointing a Legal & Compliance Manager to strengthen their advisory capability.
This is a highly visible role combining external advisory work with internal subject-matter leadership, supporting members operating in complex data-driven marketing environments. You will advise a diverse membership base on data protection, privacy, and marketing compliance, delivering consultations, guidance, and practical interpretation of legislation. The role plays a critical part in shaping how organisations apply UK GDPR, PECR, and related frameworks in real-world marketing contexts. Success will be measured by trusted member relationships, high-quality advice, and contribution to industry standards.
We are looking for a confident, credible legal or compliance professional with hands-on experience in data protection, privacy, or marketing regulation. This could suit someone from consultancy, an in-house advisory role, a regulatory body, or a charitable or membership organisation seeking broader exposure. You will be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, presenting complex concepts clearly, and acting as a recognised subject-matter expert. Over time, the role offers scope to support and mentor future hires, evolving into a people-leadership position as the team grows.
The organisation offers a collaborative, purpose-led culture where expertise is valued and professional development is actively supported. The salary range for this role is £38,000–£42,000, alongside an excellent benefits package including 23 days’ holiday plus additional days at Christmas, increasing with service, pension, private medical and dental cover, life assurance, and an employee assistance programme. The role operates on a hybrid basis, with two days per week in a central London office near Holborn. To find out more, apply now.
